I’m a psychiatric social worker and business person; I run a psychiatric agency and we serve the mentally ill homeless population on Oahu. I cut my teeth as a case manager and a team leader several years ago, transitioning people from the state psychiatric hospital into the community. No, I’ve never been diagnosed with a mental illness.
Yes, Fred is right on with his comments. The stigma is huge.
